Reflection

in the morning we were challenged to make a kinetic sculpture. I enjoyed working with my group, we made a sculpture where two tennis balls were suspended from a table and we wanted them to draw in paint on the sheets below. This didn't work as well as we hoped as I think we made the strings to short. Instead we used one ball on a string to go into the other so we could still get the path effect we wanted. With more time I might have used a different material such as elastic instead of string to suspend to ball so that it had more give. I would also create a structure as part of the sculpture instead of using the table. In the afternoon we created sculptures on our bodies. I made one going up my arm where a string being pulled made a piece of cardboard curl up on my shoulder. With more time I would have added a string on each finger to have a bigger effect. I would also have used a different material than cardboard so that the should piece would spring right back into place. I liked the effect the piece made and was happy with it.
