bricks process

I first started with painting the bricks which didn't work out very well. I had used watercolour which gave a really light colour and I wanted it to be much darker. It also had no texture. Nicky then suggested to me that I use wall filler paste to create a more brick like texture. I spread the paste over the surface and carved out some bricks and then let it dry overnight. I took pictures of bricks on buildings around me and tried to replicate the colours of their bricks. I now realise that the bricks are far too big but it was a good learning experience as I had never done anything like this before.
